Star Wars needed The Clone Wars and Rebels to tell the whole story

Embed from Getty Images May 4 2020, The beloved “Star Wars” saga was completed from the Skywalker side of the franchise. It is now available for streaming on Disney Plus. Right now is the perfect time to finish the story as we shelter in place”The Clone Wars” and subsequent animated series “Rebels” brings it all full circle.

If you are a fan and want to know more about the Darksaber (black bladed lightsaber) the one that up in the hands of Moff Gideon in Season 1 of The Mandalorian, then you need to understand that same saber was once held by Darth Maul.

The Mandalorian’s history is directly tied to The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The two animated-but-definitely-not-a-kids-series have made a rather large impact on Star Wars.

The Clone Wars begins shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones and it ends during big moments of Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Another key aspect is that during both Clone Wars and Rebels, Maul rules Mandalore. The series show a deeper look at Darth Maul who survived being sliced in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.

Fans find Maul is equally terrifying, eloquent as well as tragic in his history. Maul is now eaten up by seeking revenge. The 133 Episode Clone Wars is wonderfully done. Then follow it up with Star Wars Rebels.

The writing and character development are extremely well done. Star Wars Rebels makes an impact as well. Sabin Wren is a key figure in Rebels. She is an exiled Mandalorin, things come full circle when she returns to Mandalor.

With a rumored Season 5 of Rebels being worked on to close that series, the Clone Wars recently ended it’s seventh and finalĀ  season on an fantastic note. There was no talking the final six minutes of the shows series Ashoka leaving her lightsaber behind. Clone Trooper’s helmets onĀ  sticks (much like Storm Trooper helmets on sticks during the Mandalorian) finally the kill shot of a view through the mask of Darth Vader as he took hold of Ahsoka’s lightsaber.

If you have not watched either series at all or in a while do yourself a favor. It will help close the Skywalker arc of Star Wars.
